How to Import Procreate Brushes on iPad

Importing Procreate brushes on iPad is simple once you know where to tap. Most Procreate brush packs are delivered as digital files, usually with the extension .brushset or .brush. After downloading the files to your iPad, you can open them directly in Procreate and start using them in your Brush Library.

Step 1: Download the brush files

After purchase, download the brush files to your iPad. They may appear in the Files app, Safari downloads folder, Dropbox, Google Drive or another storage app depending on where you saved them.

Step 2: Find the file in the Files app

Open the Files app and locate the downloaded file. If you downloaded a ZIP file, tap it once to unzip it. Then look for files ending in .brushset or .brush.

Step 3: Tap the brush file

Tap the .brushset file. Your iPad should open Procreate automatically. The brush set will be imported into your Brush Library, usually near the top of the brush list.

Step 4: Open Procreate and check the Brush Library

Open a canvas in Procreate, tap the brush icon and look for the new brush set. If you imported multiple brush sets, repeat the process for each file.

Common problems

If the brush file does not open, make sure Procreate is installed and updated. If the file is still inside a ZIP folder, unzip it first. If you cannot find the file, check Safari downloads or the Downloads folder in the Files app.

Using fashion brushes after import

Once imported, use fashion brushes on separate layers so you can resize, recolor and customize your sketches. This is especially useful for clothing stamps, fashion templates, fabric textures and accessory brushes.
